There is something fascinating about the sight of beached boats. When afloat, they don't look so special but when they are beached, they take on entirely new proportions. The aspects of boats that are normally hidden from view are there for us to see: the huge rudder, the propeller and the keel tell us more about the working life of these craft than the usual view of the floating fishing boat.
The moored craft looks lively and has a certain grace but the beached vessel is mighty.
